HDPE Anti Hail Netting — Orchard & Crop Hail Protection Net
Hailproof, UV-stabilized, tear-resistant netting that turns one hail storm into a non-event — protecting your harvest, your yield, and your season.
Hail doesn't wait for a convenient time. A single storm — 10 minutes, 15 minutes — can strip blossoms, bruise fruit beyond market grade, shred leaves, and wipe out a year's labor in one pass. Insurance pays the claim, but it never pays back the lost grading, the delayed shipments, and the damaged reputation with your buyers.
Anti hail netting is not a reactive fix. It is the only layer that sits between your crop and the storm before the damage happens.
The net intercepts hailstones before they strike the canopy, absorbing and dissipating impact energy through a fine, evenly-knitted mesh. Because the mesh opening is smaller than typical damaging hail size, stones are stopped at the net surface and either bounce off or fall harmlessly to the ground — while rain and airflow still pass through to the crop below.
| What happens | With anti hail net | Without |
|---|---|---|
| Hail impact | Absorbed by mesh surface | Hits canopy directly |
| Fruit/leaf damage | Minimal to none | Bruising, shredding, yield loss |
| Rain & air circulation | Passes through mesh | — |
| Pollination / insect access | Maintained (optionally with bee-friendly opening) | — |
| You at harvest | Gradeable, marketable crop | Discounted or rejected crop |
| Parameter | Typical Value |
|---|---|
| Material | Virgin HDPE (high-density polyethylene) |
| Mesh opening | 10–20 mm (0.4–0.8 in) |
| Density | 40–90 gsm (configurable) |
| Tensile strength | High — per-direction rated (varies by gsm) |
| UV stabilization | Yes, outdoor-grade |
| Color | Black (standard); white / green on request |
| Width | 2 m, 4 m, 8 m (custom) |
| Roll length | 50–200 m (custom) |

The same net doubles as bird and pest pressure relief in many setups, giving one product multiple jobs per season.
Q: Will the net block too much sunlight and affect crop growth?
A: No. The mesh is engineered to balance protection with light and airflow. Opening size and density are selected so the crop still receives adequate light for photosynthesis while hail is kept out. We help you pick the right density for your crop and climate.
Q: How long does it actually last?
A: With proper UV-stabilized HDPE and normal outdoor exposure, 5–8+ years is a realistic service range. Actual life depends on local UV intensity, wind, and how the net is maintained.
Q: Does hail damage the net itself?
A: Hailstones are absorbed and bounce off the mesh surface. Under normal storms the net sustains no damage and remains re-usable across seasons. Extreme storms with very large stones can stress the material, which is why higher gsm is recommended for hail-heavy regions.
Q: Can it also protect against birds and insects?
A: Yes, to a useful degree. The fine mesh physically excludes many birds and larger insects. If bird or insect pressure is your primary concern, tell us and we can recommend the appropriate opening size.
Q: How is it installed?
A: It is typically draped over tunnel frames, trellis wires, or orchard support structures and tensioned at the edges. Reinforced hem and rope-in options make fixing and tensioning easier. We can provide install guidance on request.
Q: Do you support custom sizes and bulk orders?
A: Yes. Width, length, gsm, and color are configurable, and we support project-scale and container-volume orders.
Q: What is your MOQ and lead time?
A: MOQ and lead time depend on spec and quantity — send us your requirement and we'll confirm with a clear quote and schedule.
